Potential Stylist Question: How much should I invest?

May 12 at 11:02pm
I have gotten most of my questions answered but one question leads to another...you know :-)
So I have one for you. How much money do you honestly think you should invest to start up your inventory of jewelry to show? I know the actual start up cost is 199 and you get 350 in free jewelry, but I went online and started adding up things I liked and quickly got to 600.00!!! (I like everything) I really need to sell this idea to my husband he will be my hardest sell!
Thank you in advance for your information!

Hi there!
Great to hear from you! This is an exciting time...considering joining us!! How did you find sd? What are you looking for in joining sd?

Here is the formula I use for new stylists. (I have helped launch 125+ stylists in the last year)...so I have a pretty good idea of what works! Now, I am assuming that you are joining sd bc you want to get started on the 'ground-floor' and your are not a 'hobbyist'. You have a vision of earning $1500+/month and aren't afraid to be a leader in your area. You are willing to work 1 trunk show/week plus an occasional event to spread the word.

Your investment:
Join for 199.
Receive 350 in free jewels.
Shop at Half-off to round out your kit.
(use our suggested starter line samples list, featured in fashion mags/best sellers, I can email the list to you: elise.lininger@gmail.com)

The list suggests investing around $750 (so receiving $1500 in retail jewelry). Now, don't panic!!!

I have found that new stylists that 'put some skin in the game' and invest in a diverse sample kit become profitable within their first few shows. If you have it on the table, it sells! You sell more & book more! You build momentum quickly! The top-sellers on my team, invested up front. Those didn't, flailed. Of course, that isn't a hard & fast rule. But when I look at my team's numbers from the last year, that seems to be the trend.

Here is how it works out:

If you do 4 ($1000/show= $4000 sold) shows in a month, you will earn an average of $1000 in sales commission...that will pay for your investment!

At the same time, you will be earning our Profit Boosting Programs:
Free Biz Supplies = $200 worth of marketing materials (you earn 5% in free biz supplies when you sell above $800)
5% Volume Bonus = $200 cash in your pocket
Sales Commission = $1000 (25% sc)
AND Jump Start!! = $500 in free jewelry! (for every $3000 in sales you make, during your first 100 days)
